CPC Summer Camp
Our Summer program includes 10 weeks of activities, field trips and experiments. Our space allows for preschool through 3rd grade children to explore hands-on activities that encourage creative ideas and follow their independent passions.
Week 1 and 2 : June 15 + June 22 : Water, Steam, Snow and Ice
These weeks are linked because we will be taking swim lessons M-Th.
Can you play in the snow in summer? Let’s discover all the properties of water. What makes it freeze? What is the difference between a liquid and a solid? Plus add some fun water activities like snow cones, water balloons and a trip to the El Cerrito Splash Park and Antioch water park.
Week 3 and 4 : June 29 + July 6 : Be a chef / Fish in the sea
These weeks are linked because we will be taking swim lessons M-Th. but we will explore two different subjects. CPC closed July 3rd
During the first week, make your own snack every day. Learn about sustainable foods and how ingredients can change with heat or react to each other. During the second week, we will learn about fish. Let’s see how fish feel and then travel to the Aquarium to see how they live.
Week 5 : July 13 : Beach
We have such amazing beaches in this area. Visit a new beach every day or build a beach in the yard. Create ocean scenes and learn about ocean animals through daily art and science projects.
Week 6 : July 20 : Creeks
Do you like to get dirty and wet? Let’s play in the creek this week. We will take a trip to Samuel P Taylor creek for some forest creek play and learn about some creek animals throughout the week
Week 7 : July 27 : Old West
Take a trip back in time to a period where people rode horses to get around and made everything from scratch. We will take a trip to ride the ponies at Howarth Park in Santa Rosa.
Week 8 : August 3 : Trains
We love trains! We will build some amazing tracks using the most complicated pieces and visit a model railroad and the Tilden steam trains.
Week 9 : August 10 : Music
Make your own instruments and explore some full size instruments in our classroom. Then take a trip to the Creativity Museum in San Francisco for some Karaoke music videos.
