MOCHA Summer Arts Camps


Its cool to make art when it's hot outside!

Join us for innovative, hands-on arts activities for children and youth, ages 6-12. MOCHA campers work on a variety of engaging projects based on weekly topics.


Days & Times

June 3 – August 23

Pre-care: 8:00 – 8:30am
Drop-off: 8:30 – 9:00am
Camp: 9:00am – 3:30pm
Pick-up: 3:30 – 3:45pm
Aftercare: 3:30 – 5:30pm

Summer Camp Schedule: A typical day @ MOCHA Camp


Camp: $350 per week
Early Bird: $325 per week (before April 1st)
10% sibling discount on second child
Limited scholarships are available


Pre-care: $5 per day
After-care: $20 per day


June 3 – 7  Starter Art

Learn the basics: shape, line, form, texture, pattern, space and color.
Teaching Artist: Leticia Padgett

June 10 – 14  Observe, Question, Hypothesize

Dissect color, experiment with materials and test hypotheses.

June 17 – 21  Wonder Women

From O’Keefe to Kahlo to Kusama, learn about the contributions of women in art.

June 24 – 28  Architectonics

Develop skills in structural engineering while imagining buildings of the future.

July 8 – 12  Zines & Comics

Blend the worlds of art, literature and characterizations to create scenes, stories and graphics.

July 15 – 19  Street Graffiti Fashion

Utilize a variety of materials and learn techniques by combining media.

July 22 – 26  From Sketches to Prints

A survey of the process of printmaking using blocks, plates and stencils.

July 29 – August 2  pARTy Animals

Spend the week exploring the shapes and forms of all your favorite animals through paint, collage and mixed media.

August 5 – 9  Poetic Pictures

Putting imagery to literal expressions is the concentration of this week’s camps.

August 12 – 16  Across the Globe

Take a journey across the world as we explore different cultures and countries to learn how they express themselves through art.

August 19 – 23  Drawing & Painting

Learn techniques for portraits, life drawings and landscapes while focusing on composition, shading, color mixing and proportions.

  • MOCHA has recently moved to a new location. We are located in the Lower Level of Oakland City Center plaza, Suite 49. If you enter via the Clorox building from Broadway, you will need to go down the escalator in the lobby, go back outside and turn left. MOCHA is located on the left hand side of the lower level of the plaza. Our address is below.
