The Parents Press Best of the East Bay was created to give families throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the schools, camps, businesses, healthcare providers, and family-focused organizations they trust most.
Each year, thousands of parents share their experiences by nominating and voting for their favorite local resources across hundreds of categories, including those within Schools — Elementary. The program has continued to grow thanks to the participation and feedback of our parent community, making it one of the East Bay’s most trusted family-driven awards programs.
How the Voting Works
Voting for the Parents Press Best of the East Bay Elementary Schools awards takes place in a two-round process:
The Nomination Round begins in the spring, when parents are invited to submit open write-in nominations for their favorite elementary schools. Nominations remain open for several weeks, giving families throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties the opportunity to recognize the schools that have made a positive impact on their lives.
The Final Voting Round begins once nominations close. The top nominees from each category advance to the ballot, where parents cast their votes to determine the Parents Press Best of the East Bay 2026 winners. During this round, voting is limited to the finalists who earned enough nominations to advance.
The Parents Press Best of the East Bay 2026 winners are announced during the summer and featured on ParentsPress.com, in our digital publications, and across our social media channels.
