Musical Mayhem

Acting Out

In this class, students develop music theory, dance, and acting skills and culminate in a showcase of musical theatre selection.

Musical Theatre Jazz
For Preteens & Teens
Wed. 4:30–5:30pm
Sep 4–Oct 30
Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer.
Ages: 10–18 (or at discretion of Education Director)

Musical Theatre Tap
For Preteens & Teens
Wed. 5:30–6:30pm
Sep 4–Oct 30
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement.
Ages: 10–18 (or at discretion of Education Director)

Improv
For Grades 3–8
Mon. 4:30–5:30pm
Sep 9–Nov 4
Improvisation techniques, improv games, and team-building. Hone acting skills, develop emotional flexibility, build body awareness, learn to listen actively, and connect with others.
Ages: 8–16 (Grades 3–8)

Group Voice
For Grades 3–8
Mon. 5:30–6:30pm
Sep 9–Nov 4
A wonderful way to participate in the study of voice in a group setting which will build confidence and self-esteem in the young high-school singer. Class will deal with basic vocal technique including positive breathing habits, posture, good diction, phrasing and interpretation of song literature.
