The PJCC Preschool invites all to join our multicultural, multifaith learning community. Here, children are supported with love and respect while they are immersed in a variety of rich experiences that facilitate deeper understanding through their own interests and exploration.
PJCC Preschool Philosophy
We understand the profound importance of the earliest years of life. Our program provides a nurturing environment that supports each child’s individual developmental stage, with a curriculum rooted in vital human values—understood through a Jewish lens—that guide us to make the world a better place.
- Drash: Inquiry and exploration foster learning, understanding, and confidence.
- Hevruta: Wisdom grows through friendship.
- Tzedakah: A just society starts in childhood.
Teachers observe children at play, ask open-ended questions to clarify their learning process, and adapt and construct the curriculum to facilitate deeper understanding and growth.
We Believe…
- A lifetime of successful learning rests on a sense of wonder, curiosity, and confident inquiry that begins in early childhood.
- Young children are natural learners who thrive when immersed in a range of experiences, supported with love and respect, and encouraged to play and experiment.
- The values and social abilities developed in early childhood inform each person’s relationship with the world throughout their life.
- Great teachers are also great learners, evolving the environment to facilitate further discovery.
- Parents and educators are partners in supporting a child’s learning.
Our Curriculum
Our holistic program nurtures cognitive, social, physical, and emotional development each day. Interactive story times enhance language and literacy skills, music and song build community, and tactile play supports fine motor growth. Specialty activities—including gardening, creative movement, physical education, and swimming—extend learning beyond the classroom. Outdoor natural playscapes and gardens inspire curiosity, imagination, and a sense of responsibility to care for the natural world.
