My family’s experience at CCJDS, a school that truly embodies excellence in education, has been transformative. From the moment you step onto campus, it’s clear that the School prioritizes not just academic achievement, but also the development of strong social values in Judaism and community. Both of my children have attended since Kindergarten; one is in middle school and one is in upper elementary.
The rigorous academic curriculum challenges students to think critically and creatively, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. Academics are challenging, but there is never a feeling of undue negative pressure or competition. Teachers are passionate and dedicated, always encouraging students to push their boundaries while providing the support students need to succeed.
What truly sets CCJDS apart is its supportive environment based in Jewish values and traditions. The School emphasizes the importance of self-identity and well-being, creating a safe space where students feel valued and understood. There are cross-age buddies, mixed grade friendships, and celebrations that include the whole School. Programs focused on empathy, teamwork, and respect are integrated with academics, helping students develop into compassionate leaders.
Overall, CCJDS has been more than just a school to our family. Being with other parents and families who share in our values is critical to building a community like this. CCJDS is a School that prepares students not only for academic success, but for success in life. I wholeheartedly recommend it to any family seeking a well-rounded education integrating strong Jewish values, engaging academics, and social-emotional development.
We are beyond delighted that we became a part of this school. The impact that it has had on our child, the warmth of the community, the quality of the faculty, education, and parent community – all of these are peerless.
If you are at all interested in sending your child here, I’d strongly encourage you to reach out to learn more about this wonderful insitution!
My daughter transferred to CCJDS from OHDS as a 7th grader. She was immediately embraced and cherished by this wonderful community. As a parent I appreciate that this school is exceptionally well-run, from administration on down. Every teacher and administrator is either very well educated in their field, very well experienced and recognized in their field, or just has some combination of qualities that works exceptionally well for what they do. The campus is lovely. It is a surprisingly not-too-long commute from the other side of the tunnel. And there is convenient school-provided van service. Somehow it just attracts nice families and nice kids. The non-denominational Jewish framework is good for kids who are exploring their connection to Judaism. It makes everyone feel they are on track observing in whatever way works for them. The tuition is reasonable. Also, if you have a child with an IEP, all teachers are on track in respecting the IEP and problem-solving ways to accomodate it without constant badgering from parents. They do not advertise they have a learning specialist, however various administrators and teachers do provide the logistical support in upholding a student’s IEP. They were also flexible with allowing an outside tutor to work with my child during study hall. All in all this institution is a treasure.
We are so happy to have both of our sons at this school. My kids loved it from their first day visiting, and three years later, the positive experience continues.. The teachers are kind, experienced, and talented–and they really know and respect each student as an individual. The academics are excellent and engaging. The overall environment is such that my kids are eager to learn, and they come home energized. The community as a whole is incredibly warm and welcoming–this school is an absolute gem.
