Hillbrook is an accredited independent school located in Los Gatos, CA – soon to be JK-12th in the Fall of 2023 with the expansion of Hillbrook’s new Upper School in Downtown San Jose. Since our founding in 1935, Hillbrook has provided an extraordinary educational experience, where children develop a true love of learning and develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to achieve their highest potential in school and life.
More than 85 years after our founding, we remain a school that is at the leading edge of education. Our innovative program provides the just-right challenge for each student, balancing skill development with integrated project-based learning, and includes dedicated time each week for students to reach beyond and make a difference in the world. We are home to the Scott Center for Social Entrepreneurship, one of the only JK-12 centers dedicated to social impact education in the world, and the Hub, a state-of-the-art makerspace on the Marchmont Campus that serves as our epicenter for design, science, art, and engineering. We are deeply committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and action, knowing that the best schools and strongest academic programs are also intentionally diverse communities. On our 14-acre Marchmont campus, every corner is alive with activity: two bridges connect the Lower & Middle School, a creek weaves through campus (you’ll often find our science students there!), and towering trees provide a refuge for class discussions outdoors. Beginning in the Fall of 2023, our new Upper School campus brings our high school students to a vibrant urban environment in downtown San Jose, where their learning expands as a connected part of a growing, thriving downtown community.
