The Lake School is a pioneering play-based educational institution in the East Bay, recognized for its commitment to providing a stimulating and supportive environment for young children. The Lake School is open for play with learners from ages two to six years old. In the 2025-26 the school will offer longer hours for all learners with five day a week options for even our youngest students and flexible scheduling with the possibility of extending the day until five o’clock.

Founded with the belief that a planned and enriched setting helps children develop a strong sense of self, as well as an understanding of the world around them, the school emphasizes the importance of learning through play in early childhood development.
