Ortega Campus: Where Middle and High Schoolers Find Their Place

The Lycée Français de San Francisco’s Ortega campus is where childhood curiosity turns into real momentum. Serving Grades 6 through 12, Ortega is the Lycée’s Middle and High School home, the place where students from Ashbury, Sausalito and the rest of the world, arrive ready to stretch further, dig deeper, and start shaping who they want to become.

Two tracks, one community

At Ortega, families choose the path that fits their child: the French Track, aligned with the French Ministry of National Education, or the International Track, powered by the IB Middle Years Programme (Grades 6–10) and the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12) — no prior French required. Both tracks share the same campus, the same community, and the same rigorous college-preparatory standard, so students graduate with dual diplomas that open doors at top universities across the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe.

Beyond the classroom

Ortega students have room to chase what they love. The Lycée Bears compete in athletics through the California Interscholastic Federation, with a growing lineup of boys’ and girls’ teams across the seasons. A wide range of clubs and activities, from dance and art to sport-specific training, let students explore new interests or go deep on old ones. And the Global Learning Trip Program send students beyond the Bay Area entirely: recent journeys have taken Lycée students to New Orleans, Tahiti or Taiwan.
