Sacred Heart Cathedral is an educational leader in the Bay Area. The learning infrastructure and integrated cocurriculars support curiosity, educational excellence and self-discovery. We offer 27 Advanced Placement courses and offerings centered around STEM, Service and Exploration. With rigorous core classes, electives and challenging Honors and AP courses, transformative learning is the center of our academic offerings.
Our unique and strategic location in the heart of San Francisco provides students with educational opportunities and programming you cannot find anywhere else. The SFJazz Center, San Francisco Ballet, Asian Art Museum, SFMOMA, City Hall, countless high-tech corporations and service-oriented nonprofits are all within blocks of our campus, giving our students access to the world that awaits them after graduation.
With over 58 teams in 24 sports, students can excel in many sports, including football, flag football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, track & field and cross country. Since 1987, the Irish have claimed 28 Central Coast Section titles, 20 NorCal titles, eight State Team titles and two State Individual titles. Many of our student-athletes go on to play at the collegiate and professional levels. Cathedral is home to the Bay Area’s most dynamic Visual & Performance Arts (VPA) program. Our Visual Arts include Studio Art, Design, Photography and Art History. Performing Arts include Theater, Instrumental Music, Chorus and Dance.
